Shudrka celebrates theatre through different modes… this year being special, Shudrka is starting off with a prelude to its annual theatre bonanza Xpression from March 26th with a Seminar at EFLU (English and Foreign Languages University) where Sri Mukul Ahmed would be giving a talk on adaptation of Shakespeare and American plays in Indian languages and context followed by a short presentation from Shudrka Hyderabad.
27th March – Tennessee Williams’ The Glass Menagerie has been adapted in Hindi as SISHE KI KAHANI, by Sri Swapan Mondal, Founder of Shudrka Hyderabad and directed by Sri Mukul Ahmed, eminent theatre personality from UK.
This play talks about the eternal struggles of a middle-class family, a tale that seems relevant at all times.

28th March – Mukul & Ghetto Tigers presents The Confluence of Tragedy. 6 short plays, 3 from Greek and 3 from Shakespeare. It is multilingual and contemporized. Directed by Mukul Ahmed.

5th April - Shudrka Hyderabad Shilpitirtha Trust presents an English Play – I DON’T MOVE… I DON’T SCREAM… based on Franca Rame’s The Rape.
The play accounts the brutality, humiliation and soul-shattering pain of a woman who was raped. It’s a personal experience, and within that the play delves deeper and brings out the societal attitude towards rape and the women who had faced it. More importantly it brings to light the true condition and position of women in our lives and society.
